MESSAGE FROM THE DESK OF DEAN STUDENTS’ WELFARE

Prof. Ranjan Kumar Tripathi

Dear Students,

Welcome to the office of Dean Students Welfare, University of Delhi !

At the Office of the Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW), our mission is simple yet profound: to ensure that every student thrives, not just academically but in all aspects of life. You are the heart of our university, and your well-being is at the core of everything we do.

Guided by the motto of the University of Delhi- निष्ठा (Niṣṭhā), धृतिः (Dhṛtiḥ), सत्यम् (Satyam)—which stands for integrity, perseverance, and truthfulness, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing environment that empowers you to realize your full potential. These values are the driving force behind our initiatives, designed to support you every step of the way.

Our Guidance and Counseling services are here to help you navigate the ups and downs of university life. Whether you’re facing academic challenges or personal hurdles, we offer tailored support to help you overcome obstacles and make your university journey as enriching as possible.

We also understand that a supportive atmosphere is crucial to your success. That’s why we’re committed to addressing your concerns promptly and efficiently, be it about admissions, exams, or any other academic matters. Your voice matters, and we are here to listen.

The Central Placement Cell (CPC) is another pillar of our support system, bridging the gap between your academic pursuits and the professional world. Through placement and internship drives, the CPC opens doors to valuable experiences that can set you on the path to a successful career.

In line with our commitment to your success, we’ve introduced key initiatives like the Vice Chancellor Internship Scheme, which provides part-time and summer internships within the university. This not only offers you practical experience but also includes a stipend to support your studies, helping you gain a competitive edge in the professional world.

Additionally, the Financial Support Scheme (FSS) aims to make quality education accessible to all, especially to those from economically diverse backgrounds. Through comprehensive fee waivers, the FSS ensures that financial constraints do not stand in the way of your academic dreams.

Our Orphan Quota Scheme further extends support to orphaned students, providing them with the resources they need to excel at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

We are also committed to your continuous growth beyond academics. That’s why we regularly organize seminars, workshops, and skill development programs covering a wide range of topics—from academic excellence to personal growth. These opportunities are designed to prepare you with the skills and knowledge needed to tackle future challenges confidently.

As you embark on this exciting journey, kindly note that the DSW office is here for your help, support and welfare. We believe in your potential and are dedicated to helping you achieve your dreams. Remember, every challenge is an opportunity, and every step you take brings you closer to your goals.

Wishing you best of luck in all your endeavors and initiatives.

Warm regards,
Prof. Ranjan Kumar Tripathi
